Dear Student/ Guardians,

Education is the process of living through a continuous recreation of experiences. For most of the students , quality education at an affordable fee is the constant chase because quality education matters and so does the price. One thing that really sets apart from other instituitions is the quality of education at a fair price.

We are committed to make Whitefield College the first choice of quality education seekers and career designers for the 21st century and a new Nepal. The college has been seriously devoted to good leadership, impressive communication and effective management. Collective efforts of the parents, students, faculties and the college management have equal share in the career building of any student. Whitefield College wishes to develop the nation through the development of competence, dynamism and creativity to our enrolled.

Our main objective is to make our enrolled be able to pursue their study uniquely, research brilliantly, interact sufficiently and enhance multicultural knowledge. Our college is dedicated to produce and maintain controlled behavior, student-oriented teaching and proper discipline for effective and fruitful teaching. We therefore focus on enhancing personal learning abilities, academic talents and technical side of mind.

Whitefield International College



Following the quality and integrity of “Whitefield Secondary School, Whitefield International College was established in 2053 B.S to provide higher level of quality education at an affordable price. The college provides Secondary level of education in Management , Science and Humanitites under National Examination Board(NEB), Nepal and Bachelor Level programmes affiliated to Tribhuwan University (TU).

We believe that true education must not limit itself to completion of syllabus or acquisition of degree but it should instead work for the development of an invidividual and the production of highly qualified human resources for the development of the nation. Keeping this in mind, our delivery methodology is student centered and includes cooperative interactions, experientiall and participative learning activitites.

Academics



The Ten plus-2 is a two-year programme that has been meticulously designed to prepare students for enrollment in university degree programmes. Students who have completed the SEE or equivalent degree courses are eligible to undertake this course. The NEB offers five streams namely Science, Management, Humanities, Law and Education, of which Science, Management and Humanities are offered at Whitefield.

At Whitefield students are provided with a stimulating environment for their enriched learning. Students not only garner academic knowledge and skills but also develop their confidence through the continuous assessments of their performance.

Assessment/Evaluation


The students are assessed through various evaluation procedures like written test examinations (micro-tests, unit tests, terminal examinations, send-up examination) and oral tests to ensure that she/he is coping with the course of study and making progress. Generally 30 weekly exams and 3 terminal examinations will be conducted in an academic year. These exams are designed according to the board examinations format and aimed at testing the academic progress of the students as well as preparing them for the board examinations administered by the National Examination Board (NEB). Students must qualify in each exam conducted by the College to appear in Board Examinations.
In addition, the following methods are used to enhance their learning skills.

Project Work & Presentation

Students are involved in project works and presentations to develop their analyzing ability, ability to research and interpret their findings in the best way. The presentation of scientific research for science students and personality developments and managerial skills for management students with reliable data and reports make them understand their subjects in depth.

Group Work/Participatory Approach

Participatory approach in a group within and beyond the class hours facilitate students to be open up on various projects and tasks. Groups are generally given special problems on various topics to unfold the solutions through analysis, survey and review under the supervision of faculties which generally link science and technology and managerial issues.

Workshop/Seminars/Talk Programs

To enhance the academic environment of the College, Whitefield frequently conducts various workshop and training programs to update new techniques and activities to the faculty members and students. We invite resource persons and experts to deliver their lectures and make proper interactions on various subjects and contemporary issues to the students, faculty members and management team. There is an advisory body along with research and development department to make this additional teaching learning part very effective.

Life at Whitefield



Apart from classroom teaching- learning process, the college organizes a wide range of learning beyond the class room activities. The College gives equal importance to extra-curricular and co-curricular activities for the students' multidimensional personality development, which includes Games & Sports, Presentation competition, Writing and Publishing & Poem Competition, Debate & Quiz contests, Public Speaking Contests, Social Awareness, Art competition, Cultural Programs, Singing & Dance Competition and so on. Apart from these, the College sponsors various programs including intra and inter-college competitions. Whitefield offers students these varied opportunities through clubs, programs, and community service activities to excel beyond the classroom.

Career Guidance & Counseling Facilities

At Whitefield, students have the facility to get consultation from a professional Counselor to share their problems. From time to time, professionals from different fields such as medicine, engineering, applied science and management, as well as some prominent alumni are invited to interact with the students and talk about their professions to enable students to make a decision regarding their future career.

Excursions & Field Visits

Apart from our various teaching learning indoor activities, we also strive for practical and visual based techniques. Students visit various factories, manufacturing companies, corporate houses, business houses, hydropower projects, biodiversity conserved areas, food and beverage production etc. to acquire practical knowledge of what they have studied theoretically. The College management believes that such a visit will boost up the confidence level of students.

College Rules



Class Hours

Morning Shift classes begin at 6:30 AM, and end by 12:55 PM for Science Stream. Classes start at 6:30 AM, and end by 10:45 AM for Management Stream.
Day Shift classes begin at 11:00 AM, and end by 4:45 PM for Science Stream. Classes start at 11:00 AM, and end by 3:15 PM for Management and Humanities Stream.
Students must arrive at least fifteen minutes before the classes start. Students who arrive late by more than ten minutes after the bell will have to report to the management before being issued a written chit to enter the class. Disciplinary action will be taken as per the college rules against students, who repeatedly come late or are found to be bunking the class. Late comers who attempt to enter the class without written permission from the management will face disciplinary action.

Attendance

A roll call is taken every day to ensure the students' attendance and participation in the class. Absenteeism in the class is discouraged. College Head, Coordinators or Administrator must be informed in writing in case a student cannot attend class due to unavoidable circumstances. In addition to maintaining academic requirements, a minimum of 90 percent attendance is necessary to be eligible to appear for Term or Send-up and Board Exams.

Withdrawal of Student

Mid-session withdrawal is discouraged. However, if a student has to withdraw his/her name from the College due to some unavoidable circumstances, a written application must be submitted to the office at least two months in advance to issue a Transfer Certificate (TC) or any other document(s).

Dress Code And Attire

Dress code is to be strictly followed by all the students. All must wear the prescribed college uniform, which consists of a shirt, tie and pants during summer plus a coat and a pullover during winter. Students who come in casual dress or improper uniform will not be allowed to attend classes without correcting the attire.

Discipline & Code of Conduct

Effective delivery of education is only possible when there is a sense of self discipline, and a feeling of security. Discipline is strictly enforced, as we believe that it is the key to success. Students are regularly counselled, monitored and individually cared for. Teaching and non-teaching members of the College are authorized and expected within and outside the classroom to uphold the code of conduct. The Code of Conduct and general rules and regulations in the Student Handbook outline the expectations of the institution on the way the students need to conduct themselves.

The acceptance of admission to college implies the acceptance of its rules and regulations and any deviation or violation of the same will lead to disciplinary action, which also entails fines. Students are expected to behave sensibly, courteously and with a sense of concern and respect for others.
